Since designing our first home more than 30 years ago, we've worked to take the mystery and high cost out of building a custom home. With carpentry in our blood and a strong desire to design and build our own home, one that we could afford, we entered the world of homebuilding! Needless to say, doing it ourselves without any help was a daunting task. However with the bad, usually comes something good. This sparked the idea for a company that could help those who wanted to build their own home. To make a long story short, today we manufacture Beautiful, Super-Insulated Homes that are the easiest to assemble. Our approach to building provides the best of all worlds. From unlimited flexibility in design to unlimited cost saving options depending upon your abilities, needs and desires.
We generally begin by discussing your ideas, your lot, costs and contracting options to help establish the feasibility of your project. We manufacture most home styles and will help you determine the size home that your budget allows. At this point, you'll be able to get serious about shopping for the amenities you would like your new home to have.

We can also help with questions about Land Acquisition, Financing, Geothermal, Radiant and Solar. All of our expertise will be at your disposal! It doesn't cost anything to talk!
All of our homes are custom designed to suit your lot and lifestyle. You may already have a design in mind, if not, a plan of ours, one found on the web (even if it's stick-built or log) or just a rough sketch is a good place to start... Collecting pictures of ideas is a great way to conceptualize; a particular exterior look, a fireplace style, a cute front entry and maybe a window configuration you're fond of. It's about combining individual ideas and incorporating them into your plan.
We'll move along at your pace. When the time comes, we'll take care of drafting your plans. And, we don't charge architect rates! If you'd like to work on your floorplan at home, we'll show how! At each stage as your design develops, we'll send 3-D proofs in color via the Internet, saving you the trouble of having to travel! Banks and building departments generally require a set of plans and any drafting fee will be deducted from your purchase price.
When you receive your working drawings, you'll see that the foundation plan is ready for your concrete contractor to put the foundation in. With our easy to understand plans and Building Manual , you or your builder will have all the necessary information right at your fingertips. Rest assured, we're always available to help overcome any obstacles and are never further than a phone call away!
Before you know it, you'll be ready for your Timber Frame and Panel Package to arrive! Once we precut your new home, we ship it to your site neatly packaged. From there it's just a matter of putting the pieces together. It's all by the numbers. Because of our unique joinery, only two people are needed to put up one of our frames. Unlike traditional joinery that requires assembling large cumbersome bents, our frames can be assembled one timber at a time, and no need for a crane! Our homes are the easiest to put together! The precut panels, for the most part, are just taken one at a time and screwed onto the frame. Being systems oriented, we've developed extremely efficient procedures and production capabilities. Consequently, our home and barn kits are almost always less expensive than other prefab companies, even when you add for shipping.
Investing a few weeks of time can potentially save you "tens of thousands of dollars" by coordinating the assembly of the shell. It's not necessary to pay "Timber Frame & Panel Crew" rates - plus food, travel, lodging and bad weather days. The key is to have one person who determines the sequence of events. With our on-line instructional videos, everyone can see exactly what's involved! You'll realize there's no reason to worry about making a mistake. We've actually had a number of husband and wife teams' do-it –themselves. Some invite their friends and relatives. Many have told us how much fun they had and that they feel a real sense of pride in their accomplishment!
Building a home is not a project to be taken lightly, but is certainly well worth the effort. The key is to just keep moving forward. Our home-building system is designed to make building easier, whether you plan to hire a builder or do-it-yourself. Choosing to contract the project yourself can save you anywhere from 15% - 25% on overall construction costs. You don't have to decide right now, but by doing some of the work yourself, you can build substantial equity and lower your monthly payment.
We handle the most critical parts of the project, so all you need are standard subcontractors to do the rest. You can participate in the actual construction as much or as little as you like. But, you don't have to pick up a hammer unless you want to! Everything we do is geared to the first time Owner-Builder. Our goal is to help you to work smarter, not harder! Considering us a partner in your venture, hopefully will help you to realize that you really can contract the project yourself!
With 40% of the nation's energy consumption used to heat, cool and power residential and commercial buildings, don't you think it's time for something different? We've already talked about numerous ways to limit costs. Here's an added bonus: energy conservation and what it can do for you! With fuel costs at $3 per gallon and 1/3 the energy consumption of stick-built, the amount of fuel you will save with one of our homes over a standard mortgage period, is enough to pay for the entire frame and panel package.
The bottom line is, our homes are actually less expensive than conventional 2x6 or log construction. And, with a little forethought and doing some of the work yourself, you can build for a lot less than the other homebuilding options available today! |
